Everything but the Kitchen Sink

Here are some thoughts, links, and concepts that have kept me going lately. Reply with your favorites + what’s been inspiring you these days—I love chatting all things inspo!

— I am learning (for the umpteenth time) that just because I have a hard day (or frustrating moment) doesn’t mean the next day has to be defined by it. Each morning God’s mercies are made new. And each morning (and moment, truly) is a clean slate. I can choose to turn a new leaf in my mind. You may have noticed me talking about this a lot lately. Probably because I’m practicing this daily and learning that when I can keep this perspective, it changes everything. Hope abounds!

— If you’ve had a hard day lately, here are a few field notes for just the occasion.

— This week, I had an incredible call with Caroline Lunne to talk about entrepreneurship and the ins and outs of building a marketing agency. She posted a Substack about her business learnings and told her readers (AKA me!) that she’s only an email away. Being the kind of person I am, I immediately took her up on her offer. I shot her a note asking some questions, and she replied with a meeting invite saying she’d love to chat through them together live. Ah! The authenticity. The generosity. The kindness. Reminder that your favorite writers, creators, artists, and business owners are only an email away!

— Speaking of Substack, I’m seriously considering using it as my main publishing force for the next period of time. Eeeeek. This makes me nervous! What will happen to my email list? Will you guys still read my weekly posts if I move your address over to the Substack platform? These are the things that keep me up at night (half kidding). I go back and forth on this all the time—not wanting to lose or abandon readers, while also not wanting to lose or abandon potential readers on that platform (which is rapidly growing). It’s the place to be if you want to publish a book, which is me… sooooo. You can see my dilemma. 🙂

— I just ordered this dress for a spring wedding and absolutely can’t wait to try it on! This one is also darling.

The Correspondent absolutely wrecked me. Have you read it?! Please respond with your thoughts, if so. Consider this our Correspondent book club. I haven’t been this moved by a book in awhile. The character development! The style! The way you so intimately grow close to the main character! So heartwarming, and then at the end, so heartbreaking to turn the final page. I can’t recommend it enough (and I don’t always love fiction, so this is a big statement coming from me).

— On that note, it’s taken me a long time in life to accept that statement: I don’t always love fiction. I think I’ve felt for a long time that I had to read fiction because “everyone else does” or “it’s just what you read when you want to unwind,” when in reality, I love reading memoirs and the occasional coming of age story. I’ve found the audacity to accept myself and who I really am (and what I really like) to be so healing. I don’t need to try to be someone else, I just need to be me.

— I don’t mean to sound like a broken record on these two things, but they truly have changed my days, and friends don’t let friends miss out: Magic Mind Mental Performance Shots have changed the game for my productivity and really cut through my brain fog. If you’re looking for help in either area, here’s a link for $40 off your first order. And then, my summer bestie—this tinted moisturizer with SPF, sans hormone disrupting ingredients—is my go-to. It glides on, gives great coverage, and is as light as the sun. Easy, breezy, coverage. 😉 If you’re in the market for a light spring/summer makeup option, here’s a link for $10 off your first order!

I shared a video this week about how I make bone broth from our weekly roasted chicken, and I’m copying it here in case it’s helpful. I learned how to make bone broth from watching videos on the internet like this one, so I thought I’d pay it forward.

That’s all for now. I hope you have an incredible day and know you are immensely seen, known, and loved.
