My March Intentions

I can hardly wrap my mind around March being here. The final stretch of Q1! How.

This year has been so many things, and particularly, February was full of all of these things.

In January, I set out to chase quarterly goals instead of annual ones. I’m much more likely to stay focused on something for twelve weeks than I am for twelve months. After all, who knows what I’ll be doing in October, ya know? Alas, the quarterly goals kicked off.

Here are a few of the things I’m focusing on as we round the final corner of Q1.

My March 2026 Intentions:

Keep a mindset of learning. I am a forever student, especially right now.
There are so many big things happening this month. So many new things in my business. So many new things to learn. Which is beautiful. And, if I’m honest, a little intimidating. So, I’m walking into this month with the mindset that I’m a student. I’m expecting myself to learn right now, not be an expert.

Plus, will I ever really be an expert? I hope not. I hope I’m learning forever and ever. So I’m choosing to view this next month as intentional studying and experimenting time. Along the way, I plan to capture my learnings as I go so I can look back on what I’ve learned.

Keep focused time focused. Less scrolling and interruptions.
I recognize that I can’t do deep focus work all of the time. That is not realistic or possible. But when I do have a block of 30-60 minutes to write or plan or strategize, I am working on being more intentional. Not picking up my phone when I run into a question or a reason for pause. Forcing myself to walk into the uncomfortable, messy middle of a project and try to forge a path forward—sans procrastination. So basically, yes, I am focusing on focusing. 😉

Be present in my marriage.
Mitch and I are both very determined and focused and hardworking people. We have our day jobs, and then we have work and projects outside of business hours. This is good and beautiful—we are working hard for our future family—and it also highlights the times that we are sitting together without a project or question or this or that. The time we have together is the actual making of our marriage, and when we are together and outside of bonus work, i want to give him my attention, be still, and enjoy his presence (because it’s what I love most in this world, after all!).

Keep up my habits of moving.
A big shift that’s made all the difference this year has been telling myself, “I am a person who moves my body.” Moving isn’t something I do to get smaller. It’s something I do because of who I am—a woman in pursuit of a healthy, wholehearted life. Body, mind, and soul.

The other day, I had very limited time after work to put dinner away, go on a walk, dig into some client work, and get ready for bed. I found a victim mindset creeping in, trying to say, “Well, I guess this is just the cost of business. If I do the client work, I have to sacrifice my workout time.”

Argh! The audacity of that thought. I immediately rebutted it with this simple truth: I am someone who moves my body. I may not have 60 minutes for a long walk like I’d prefer, but I can loop around the block a couple times. Because health and business success are not mutually exclusive. I’m really good at taking things to the extreme (or believing that if I don’t have alllll the time in the world, then I can’t do XYZ), and this month I’m going to fight for more walks around the block, more 6 minute sculpt workouts, more steps forward. It all adds up, and something is always better than nothing.

Create for fun, just because.
Because honestly? I am a much better human, wife, employee, business owner, and friend when I’m writing and sharing frequently. I just am. It’s how the good Lord created me, and I have to honor my hardwiring and inclinations. Whether it’s jotting down a poem or an idea on a napkin or edge of a notebook, drafting a blog post, sharing an Instagram Story or Reel on the fly, or scrapbooking, these little expressions have a big impact on my overall wellbeing and abilities.

What are you excited for this March? Anything you’re focusing on at the end of Q1? I’d love to hear! Drop a comment below.
