Starting and Staying

A while ago, I wrote about Beginnings. About taking the first step, about starting something new. You can read it here.

I wrote what you might consider a Part II for myself, and I thought you might like it, too. Happy New Year, friends.

The hardest part is starting,

For sure.

But once you do,

You get in the groove.

The next hardest part is consistency—

Staying committed

Staying on track
Staying true to the goal, dream, habit you imagined for yourself.

It can be sexy to choose something once,

Or even ten times.

But 22, 47, 76 times?

You’ve got to start, of course.

But then,

Over and over again,

You’ve got to remember why you set out on this path,

Why it’s worth it to stay consistent,

Why you believe in taking the step,

Doing the thing,

Showing up.

Once you remember,

And once you take that next step,

You’ve got to do it again,

And again,

And again.

Repeat.
