Go and Tell: Why Your Story Matters

I read something the other day that stopped me dead in my tracks.

A little context.

In Luke 1, the angel Gabriel tells Elizabeth and Zechariah they will have a son (a  man we know by the name of John the Baptist), and he will prepare the way for Jesus.

This news was a miracle, as they hadn’t been able to conceive up to that point. An ancient day infertility story and answered prayer.

As Elizabeth gives birth to John, Luke 1:57 says,

“And her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown great mercy to her, and they rejoiced with her.”

This caused me to pause.

The miracle in Elizabeth’s life impacted other other people.

They saw the undeniable mercy of God and it caused them to rejoice and praise. To have hope in the Almighty.

It got me thinking. Am I sharing the miracles and mercies God has shown and continues to show me every single day? Am I giving others the chance to praise God because of His goodness in my life? Am I giving them that opportunity?

Friend, our testimonies are powerful. Don’t doubt what your story could unlock in someone else. Go and tell. Shine your light. Tell your story—it could make an eternal impact.
